Lisa Brown’s Post (I am very proud of Dave)

These kind words were posted to Lisa’s social media account. I just wanted to share!

I am Very Proud of Dave

By Lisa A. Brown

I have had the privilege of seeing Dave’s journey up close, not just as his wife, but as a partner in building the P53 mission. When people read his books or attend his talks, they see the finished work — the clear explanations, the science broken down, the call to take back control of health. But what they don’t often see are the countless late nights, the stacks of research papers, the hours spent rewriting chapters so the message would be not only accurate, but accessible to anyone.

I’ve watched Dave pour himself into this mission with an intensity that few people ever bring to their life’s work. His passion isn’t academic. It’s personal. He cares deeply about every person he consults with — whether it’s someone struggling with cancer, a family worried about chronic disease, or an individual simply trying to feel better day-to-day. He never takes shortcuts, because people’s lives are on the line.

I’ve also had the chance to sit alongside him as he consults with people who are desperately searching for answers. I’ve witnessed the questions, felt the weight of their worry, and seen the relief that comes when he explains how food and lifestyle can truly rebuild the body—what Dave calls restoring the terrain. I’ve witnessed people discover hope where they thought there was none. And I’ve seen them take action — choosing plants, cutting toxins, regaining strength — and come back with stories of energy, healing, and new life.

That’s why I started the P53 Food Carts. I wanted to take the same truths Dave has been teaching and make them accessible right in the community — quick, affordable meals that align with the P53 Diet principles. I’ve seen how hard it can be for people to make changes when the only convenient option is fast food. So we decided to flip the script: what if “fast” food could also be healing food? Every time someone orders a meal from one of our carts, they’re not just feeding their hunger — they’re feeding their future. Look for my food cart coming to Bend in the spring of 2026. The location will be disclosed soon!

When I think about this book, The Lies We Eat: The Truth That Heals, what excites me most is how it pulls all of Dave’s years of research and teaching into one place — but in a way that anyone can read. His earlier books, like The P53 Diet & Lifestyle, How You Are Being Poisoned, Understanding Hormones, Enzymes & Cell Receptors, and Taste Versus Cancer, are rich with detail for those who want to dive deep into the science. This book is different. It’s the simple, clear version — the book you can hand to a friend or family member who may never pick up a textbook, but who needs to understand the truth about food and health.

And the truth matters. For too long, we’ve been told myths: like, “that a handful of supplements can make up for a poor diet.”  I’ve watched Dave dismantle those myths with patience and persistence, showing not just why they’re false, but what the better way is. And I’ve seen how empowering it is when people realize they don’t have to keep believing the lies.

What I love most about this book is that it doesn’t just inform — it guides. I asked Dave to add to each chapter Key Takeaways, Action Steps, and a Closing Message. Dave listened and they are at the end of each chapter. That’s Dave’s way of making sure the truth doesn’t stay on the page but moves into your daily life. It’s not just knowledge — it’s a roadmap.

I don’t have the same depth of knowledge that Dave has, but I’ve learned to lean on his years of research to guide me toward the truth. My passion is helping people in a different way — by preparing food that not only tastes wonderful, but also supports their health. When I first started listening to Dave explain his work, I’ll admit I was like most people: skeptical about changing habits I thought were harmless. One of the biggest shifts for me was giving up cooking oils. At first, it seemed impossible — oils were so common in everything I made. But as Dave patiently explained the science and showed me the impact, I came to understand why they don’t belong in our kitchens. Today, I don’t use oils in any of my cooking, and I’m grateful for the clarity and health that change has brought.

So as you begin this book, know that what you’re holding isn’t just another health title. It’s the product of years of research, countless hours of work, and a passion to see people set free from myths and empowered with truth.

I’ve seen the late nights. I’ve seen the commitment. And I’ve seen the results in people’s lives. My hope is that as you read, you’ll not only learn but take action — because change doesn’t happen in theory, it happens in practice.

The lies we’ve been told about food have made us sick. But the truth is here, and the truth heals.
